These attractive stackable boxes were designed to be made in a sheltered workshop using a series of jigs for simplicity of assembly. The design is based on a traditional orange box but has been modified to enable them to be stacked both vertically and horizontally.
The beauty of the design is that it makes use of small timber sections with less used species, such as sycamore and alder, that would otherswise have a limited market. The end result is a lightweight natural product that can be adapted for a number of uses.
Examples of different applications would be vegetable boxes, pet beds and stackable book shelves. As demonstrated they can also be converted into an upholstered seat if required.
This is yet another product belonging to the Welsh Angle range using native hardwoods in the form of standard dimension narrow boards, obtained as part of woodland management schemes throughout Wales. It is therefore suited to a small or developing business as it does not require expensive or sophisticated equipment.
