Coed Cymru established the first Group Forest Management FSC certification scheme in Wales in 2001. We are audited each year by SGS Qualifor.

If you own or manage a woodland in Wales and would like to join the scheme please read below and contact your local Coed Cymru Woodland Officer (see Contacts Page).

  • Our scheme is open to woodlands already managed by or eligible for management by Coed Cymru.
  • There is no charge.
  • Your wood will be assessed against the UK Woodland Assurance Standard (UKWAS).
  • There is a minimum amount of additional paperwork.
  • Our scheme covers round timber and firewood up to the first point of sale.
  • For further timber processing/sales you will need a separate chain of custody certificate.
