Laminated Hardwood Casement Window

Coed Cymru has developed a novel system of constructing casement window frames using timber from small dimension trees. It conforms to standard window requirements and to the latest glazing regulations and has been tested by TRADA for weathertightness (BS 6375 Part 1, 1989) and operational strength (BS 6375 Part 2 1987)and security.

  • The frame and sash are each built up in a single step by laminating pre-cut components in a suitable jig.
  • Joints, rebates and mouldings are created automatically because of the dimensions of the components.
  • Mortar grooves, drip and seal grooves can be machined post assembly
  • There are only four different component sections: their lengths are determined using simple formulae based on the height and width of the window. These formulae will also give settings for the assembly jig.
