There are 123,000 hectares of broadleaf woodland in Wales, 34,413 hectares which is designated Ancient Semi-Natural Woodland (ASNW). It is our most diverse terrestrial habitat. Since 1985 Coed Cymru staff have prepared 6,919 management plans covering 31,426 hectares, 24% of the total in Wales. Half of this is ASNW.
